ARIA Oral Surgery
    SPECIALIZED CARE

    Wisdom Teeth

The removal of wisdom teeth is a common milestone in oral health, but it doesn't have to be a stressful one. At Aria, we've designed the entire experience around your comfort, using advanced surgical techniques and a calming environment to ensure your journey is as smooth and predictable as possible.

    Why is removal recommended?

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, often lack the space needed to emerge properly. Removal is frequently recommended to prevent future complications and protect the health of your existing teeth. You may benefit from an evaluation if you experience:

    Wisdom teeth imaging and evaluation
01Impacted teeth that cannot fully emerge through the gumline
02Persistent pain or pressure in the back of the jaw
03Recurrent infection or inflammation around partially erupted teeth
04Crowding or shifting of adjacent teeth
05Cyst formation or damage to neighboring tooth roots

    04

    Closure & Recovery

    Preparation & Expectations

Ensuring a calm and predictable experience.

    The Intent of Care

    Pain Prevention

Removing wisdom teeth before they cause issues can prevent sudden, severe pain related to impaction or infection.

    Protecting Alignment

Removal can prevent the crowding or shifting of your existing teeth, protecting your orthodontic investment.

    Reducing Infection Risk

Partially erupted wisdom teeth are difficult to clean and frequently lead to recurrent gum infections (pericoronitis).

    Risks, Limitations & Alternatives

Wisdom teeth removal is a routine surgical procedure, but it does involve risks like swelling, infection, dry socket, or temporary numbness in the lower lip or chin. These risks are presented calmly and discussed thoroughly during your consultation.

    Alternatives

In some cases, if the teeth are fully erupted and functional, "watchful waiting" or monitoring may be an alternative to removal. We will discuss whether this is appropriate for your specific anatomy.

    When to Seek Care

If you experience uncontrolled bleeding, high fever, or severe pain that is not managed by medication, please contact our office immediately.
